Lockheed Martin’s [LMT] Sikorsky has received a $525 million order from the Army for 40 UH-60M aircraft, to include two for a foreign military sale customer.

The deal, announced on Tuesday evening, was placed as a Lot 44 production option under the Army’s Multi-Year IX Black Hawk contract with Sikorsky.

While the latest contract doesn’t name the FMS customer, the State Department did approve a $115 million deal with Croatia last October for two multi-mission variant Black Hawks (Defense Daily, Oct. 30).

The Army awarded Sikorsky the potential $5.2 billion MY IX Black Hawk contract in 2017, with an acquisition objective for 257 helicopters.

Work on the latest order is expected to be completed at the end of June 2022, according to the Pentagon.
