U.S. To Begin Deploying Long-Range Fires, Including Hypersonics, To Germany In 2026

The U.S. Army is planning to start periodic deployments of long-range fires capabilities, including hypersonic weapons, to Germany starting in 2026. The capabilities will be deployed with one of the Army’s new Multi-Domain Task Forces, with plans for “enduring stationing” of the long-range fires weapons in Germany “in the future,” according to a joint statement from the U.S. and German governments. “When fully developed, these conventional long-range fires units will include SM-6, Tomahawk, and developmental hypersonic weapons, which have significantly…
