U.K.’s First Joint Forces Commander Takes Post

The first commander of the U.K. Joint Forces Command has taken up the job: Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach took over Dec. 1. Peach will be responsible for commanding and generating allocated joint capabilities. The creation of the JFC was a key recommendation in Lord Levene's Defence Reform report, published in June as part of a wider package of comprehensive reform for the U.K. military.
