TSA Publishes Interim Final Rule For Air Cargo Screening Program

By Calvin Biesecker The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today is publishing the Interim Final Rule for its Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP), which essentially signals that the program has moved from a pilot phase to a full-up security program. TSA established the CCSP program earlier this year as a pilot effort to help Indirect Air Carriers (IACs), who are essentially freight forwarders for cargo bound for passenger planes, screen cargo for explosives before it is loaded onto the aircraft.
