Trump Signs Bill To End Shutdown, As Work Awaits On FY ‘26 NDAA, Defense Appropriations

President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening signed a bill to end the longest-ever government shutdown, as work still awaits in Congress to finish the final fiscal year 2026 defense policy and appropriations bills. After a record 43 days, the House passed the new continuing resolution to temporarily fund the government through Jan. 30 after the Senate first passed the measure on Monday evening.
