Textron’s Bell Unit Agrees To Pay Government $3.7 Million For Overbilling

The Department of Justice (DoJ) recently said that Textron's [TXT] Bell Helicopter business has agreed to pay the federal government an additional $3.7 million to resolve civil claims that the company first disclosed in 2004 related to billing on certain work with the Defense Department. Bell initially paid the government $12.9 million in 2006 to resolve the billing issues but subsequent reports by the company showed more overcharges to DoD related to transactions between Bell's operations in Texas and Canada.…
