Taxpayer Group To Super Committee: Examine Weapon Systems

A new government-watchdog group is asking the congressional deficit-cutting committee to avoid across-the-board Pentagon budget reductions and instead re-examine big-ticket weapons programs. David Williams, president of the new Taxpayers Protection Alliance non-profit organization, said in an interview he wants the 12-member Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction to “not just to be lazy and to allow across-the-board cuts, and to look (instead) at what works and what doesn’t work.” He added “the Pentagon is probably the first place to look,…
