Sweden’s Saab AB on Thursday said talks are still ongoing to acquire Swedish shipyard ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AB and discussions are in the final stages.

Saab in April signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG, a subsidiary of Germany’s ThyssenKrupp AG, for the sale of the shipyard. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems was formerly called Kockums.ThyssenKrupplogo

Saab disclosed the status of negotiations with ThyssenKrupp to clarify media reports.

Saab wants to purchase the shipyard to expand its naval activities.
