Raytheon [RTN] submitted a proposal to build the Air Force’s Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (GASTN), according to a company statement.
GASNT is a nuclear command and control (C2) system that will use both Extremely High Frequency (EHF) and next-generation Advanced EHF (AEHF) waveforms to provide protected communications in difficult environments. GANST will provide the ground element of the Minimum Essential Emergency Communications Network (MEECN) system with the capability to receive, validate and disseminate alerts, called Emergency Action Messages.
GASNT proposals were due by Jan. 18 with a contract award expected in June.
