Raytheon [RTN] yesterday said it has acquired Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS), a firm specializing in cross domain, operating system and network security solutions, adding to capabilities in cyber security.

Raytheon said the purchase is not expected to have a material impact on its sales or earnings in the fourth quarter of 2010 or in 2011. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

TCS, which is based in Northern Virginia, provides cross-domain and cyber security software and services that enable organizations to manage and share information securely across multiple classification levels and domains. Its products allow customers to protect themselves against a range of threats and ensure confidential and secure sharing and collaboration.

The acquisition is the seventh by Raytheon in the cyber security area in the past three years. TCS will be integrated into Raytheon’s Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) segment within the Information Security Solutions product line.

“Trusted Computer Solutions’ very strong product portfolio extends Raytheon’s leadership in government cross-domain solutions and delivers vital new capabilities to our suite of cyber solutions,” Lynn Dugle, president of IIS, said in a statement.
