“Our purchase of Synaptic Solutions is a continuation of our active acquisition campaign to provide a broader range of advanced technology capabilities within the intelligence community,” Scott Goss, CEO of PSS, said in a statement. “We remain committed to investing in companies, capabilities, and subject matter expertise that will further enrich our cloud architecture, engineering, advanced software design and development, and big data management and analytic solutions.”

Synaptic owners and founders will join PSS’ National Security Group and help focus future growth across the intelligence community.

The acquisition is the sixth by PSS in the past 30 months.

PSS’ capabilities are in systems and software engineering, data analytics and high performance computing, cyber security and cloud mission support, and acquisition and program management services to national security and industry customers. Synaptic’s strengths are in IT project analysis and consultation, and software development. Both companies are based in Northern Virginia.

Last November, PSS acquired GSM Consulting in a deal that strengthened its position as a provider of software, cyber and mobile solutions to the intelligence community.
