AtHoc, Inc., has deployed its IWS Alerts for mass notification to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Terms of the award were not disclosed. The company says that its solution gives the Force Protection Agency an Internet Protocol-based, integrated alerting capability to rapidly notify personnel via computers, cell phones, office, home and mobile phones. The deployment is a modernization of the Pentagon’s Computer Emergency Notification System that was created shortly after 9/11. AtHoc says that follow-on phases of the mass notification implementation will include integration with internal Pentagon-wide communication systems such as fire protection and public address systems by SimplexGrinnell
