NASA has increased its use of temporary hirings, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report to Congress stated.

Since NASA was given the power to appoint employees to positions for limited terms of just a few years, such appointments have increased in number.

However, employees separated from the agency overwhelmingly continue to be full-time workers, with less than 1 percent representing term-limited employees whose employment terms weren’t renewed, according to GAO.

Also, some term-limited employees have been converted to full-time workers.
