Napolitano Appoints McAfee’s Schneck As DHS’ Cyber Chief

Moving to plug a gap in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) cyber security expertise, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano yesterday announced the appointment of McAfee executive Phyllis Schneck to be the next cyber policy chief at the department. Schneck, who is currently the chief technology officer (CTO) of McAfee’s public sector division, is slated to become the deputy under secretary for Cybersecurity for the National Protection and Programs Directorate early next month.
