By Emelie Rutherford The head of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) said yesterday he expects to focus acutely on the war in Afghanistan in the near future, and predicted Congress will need to approve supplemental war funding later this fiscal year. Now that the fiscal year 2010 defense authorization bill has been passed and signed into law, SASC Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) said his defense priorities "first, second, and third" are Afghanistan.
