General Dynamics [GD] recently said it has completed its acquisition of IWP Holdings, a provider of 3G and 4G LTE wireless broadband network equipment for public safety and military markets.
IPW Holdings is the parent of IPWireless, whose products help first responders and other users access data and applications at high speeds.
“General Dynamics Broadband is now positioned to bring more innovation to the most advanced mobile broadband deployments in the government sector today,” Chris Marzilli, president of GD C4 Systems, said in a statement. He added that the new business unit will “allow us to expand our commercial networking solutions to better serve the needs of our customers, including municipalities who are moving to broadband public safety networks such as the FirstNet nationwide interoperable broadband network.”
GD Broadband is a subcontractor to Northrop Grumman [NOC] on the New York City Wireless Network and to Raytheon [RTN] for an LTE communications system being deployed in Adams County, Colo.
