General Dynamics [GD] appointed Thomas Kirchmaier as president of the Advanced Information Systems business, part of the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) group.
Kirchmaier, 56, succeeds Lewis Von Thaer, who resigned in April. Kirchmaier reports to David Heebner, executive vice president of IS&T.
Before his new role, Kirchmaier led the Intelligence Solutions division of GD’s Information Technology (IT) business since 2007. Previous to that, he was senior vice president of GD IT’s Global Information Services, which provides network and IT solutions to commercial, public safety and international customers.
“Tom Kirchmaier is a seasoned executive with many years’ experience working with Department of Defense and intelligence community customers on critical national security programs,” Heebner said in a statement.
