EOIR Technologies, Inc., has received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract for the Air Force McFRETA program, which calls for research and development of an open framework to perform automated anomaly detection of multiple streaming video sources, and to extract metadata on the anomalies that is made available for both ongoing operations and forensics. “In addition to supporting intelligence analysts, a real-time automated video processing and anomalous event extraction capability could be used to increase situation awareness of war fighters on the tactical edge by forwarding videos of operationally important events to a wrist-mounted or portable display as the events occur,” the company says.
