DARPA Exploring Development of 50-Caliber Smart Bullet

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) plans to host an industry day on an exploratory development program aimed at developing a highly accurate 50-caliber bullet at long distances against moving targets. DARPA says the EXACTO program has two components. The first is to develop a guidance system that provides information to direct the projectile to the target and second to develop an actively controlled projectile that uses this information for real-time directional flight control, according to a Nov. 26…
