IDSS Nabs Checkpoint CT Trial Contract for Three UK Airports
Britain’s AGS Airports Limited
has awarded Integrated Defense and Security Solutions a contract to provide its DETECT 1000 checkpoint computed tomography (CT) carry-on baggage scanner integrated with the Leidos [LDOS] automated tray return system for the trial phase of the procurement program at Aberdeen International, Glasgow and Southampton Airports in the United Kingdom. IDSS will partner with AGS and the team of Pangiam and Google Cloud [GOOG] on a next-generation checkpoint screening environment based on the DETECT 1000 open architecture platform allowing easy data sharing among screening systems. The technology will be tested within AGS’ security facilities. Once a trial at Glasgow is successful, IDSS will roll out the checkpoint equipment to all three airports. In addition to the DETECT 1000, IDSS will provides its EDSCB C3 algorithms augmented with Pangiam’s and Google Cloud’s Project Dartmouth artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities that enable open architecture data sharing between systems.
OSI Receives $12M for Border Security Solutions
OSI Systems [OSIS] received a $12 million contract from an international customer to provide multiple units of its Eagle P60 ZBx drive-through cargo and vehicle inspection system, optical under vehicle inspection system, license plate and face capture system, and follow-on service and support. The company says the systems will be used for border security.
