The Coast Guard’s fourth National Security Cutter, the 418-foot Hamilton, has departed from the Huntington Ingalls Industries [HII] shipyard in Mississippi for its homeport of Charleston, S.C., During the voyage to its homeport, Hamilton’s crew will conduct training and exercises to get the ship certified as Ready-For-Sea, and will stop at Pensacola, Fla., to onload ammunition for planned live-fire exercises.
