Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Secure Border Initiative (SBI) Acquisition Office has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Mobile Surveillance Capability to detect, track and identify items of interest along the U.S. border. CBP plans to award a five-year firm fixed price contract in FY ’10 for up to 88 units depending on the availability of funds in the option years. CBP has previously purchased Mobile Surveillance Systems from Griffon Corp.’s [GFF] Telephonics division and ICx Technologies [ICXT].
