The Department of Homeland Security in April released the long-awaited FirstSource III Request for Proposal for the FirstSource III small business information technology multiple award contract. The pending contract will have five separate set-aside tracks and two functional categories. The tracks are 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business; Women-Owned Small Business, and a set-aside for all small businesses. Federal Protective Services Issues RFP to Lease X-Ray Machines

The Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service for the lease of new X-Ray systems for designated locations in the U.S. and its territories. The single award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract will be for five years and include single-view and multi-view X-Ray systems of all sizes. The machines will be used to screen personal items and packages of employees, contractors, and visitors to federal facilities for illegal and prohibited items and to screen parcel deliveries and mail to federal facilities. Air Force Seeks Biometric Collection Equipment for Finger Scans and Facial Pictures

The Air Force is seeking small business sources to provide a biometric collection device and software capable of capturing 10-digit finger prints and facial pictures. The collection equipment must be approved for used by the Defense Forensic Science Center Biometrics Operations Division Interoperability Initiatives. Army Seeks Refresh of Biometric Collection Kits

The Army has released a Request for Information regarding a technical refresh of the Near Real Time Identity Operations (NRTIO) SEEK II and the Jump Kit. The refresh will include the procurement of the collection kits, the interoperability between the collection kits and the NRTIO Regional Forward Server, which is being replaced with the NRTIO GovCloud, obtaining the Authority to Operate for the kits, creation of limited training materials, and deploying the new kits to NRTIO users. The NRTIO is an identity information system that ingests biometric records collected by U.S. forces and agencies, partner nations, and coalition forces, compares them to active watchlists and previously collected biometric records, and provides rapid identity verification and alerts to support identity operations and inform anti-terrorism and force protection decisions. The system returns a biometric match response to the user in less than three minutes. The NRTIO operates in the U.S. Central Command area of operations. The RFI says the contractor will provide 250 SEEK II replacements and 138 jump kit replacements. Coast Guard RFP for Waterways Commerce Cutter Coming Soon

The Coast Guard says its Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) will be released sometime during the third quarter of fiscal year 2021. The WWC fleet will replace the capability currently provided by Inland Buoy Tenders, Inland Construction Tenders and River Buoy Tenders. The solicitation will provide for the detail design and production of up to 16 River Buoy Tender Variant cutters and an estimated 11 Inland Construction Tender Variant cutters.
