*The Coast Guard has awarded a potential five-year, $32.4 million contract to the full-service advertising agency Laughlin, Marinaccio & Owens. The Northern Virginia-based firm is being retained to provide services and support such as account management, market research, planning and analysis, image advertising and advertising measurement.
*The Coast Guard has awarded the design and build firm Haskell a $9.7 million contract for design and construction of a new Vessel Support Building in Key West, Fla., for the service’s home-porting of Fast Response Cutters. Work is expected to be completed by July 2012
*Motorola [MOT] has received a $1.1 million sole source, fixed-price contract from the Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service for monitoring, maintenance and documentation support service for the Voice over Internet Protocol Radio Dispatch Network System.
*Cross Match Technologies says that John Hinmon has joined the company as vice president of marketing, with additional responsibilities related to the company’s mergers and acquisition activities. Hinmon was previously with Safran Group’s subsidiary Vectronix Inc., which makes integrated electro-optics, laser range finding and north finding technologies. At Vectronix Hinmon was vice president of sales and marketing with responsibility for U.S. sales channel development.
