*The Transportation Security Administration has installed its 200th Advanced Imaging Technology machine at U.S. airports, including eight airports where the technology is being deployed for the first time. The new airports are Cleveland Hopkins International, Dayton (Ohio) International, Newark (N.J.) Liberty International, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International, Memphis International, L.A./Ontario (Calif.) International, Portland (Ore.) International, and Lambert-St. Louis International.

*TSA says it plans to award contracts to award contracts with Recovery Act funds to OSI Systems [OSIS] Rapiscan division and Smiths Detection for second generation Advanced Technology X-Ray systems. These systems are referred to as AT II X-Ray systems

*Implant Sciences Corp. [IMSC] has received orders worth more than $550,000 for its Quantum Sniffer H-150 portable explosive trace detector for public safety and force protection applications in Spain and China. In China the devices will be used for public safety at the upcoming 2010 Asian Games. In Spain the Spanish Air Force will use the QS H-150 to boost security. “These orders are new business in regions where Implant Sciences has made previous sales,” says Glenn Bolduc, Implant’s CEO.
