*Cross Match Technologies has filed a lawsuit against Suprema, Inc., and Mentalix, Inc. in the U.S. District Courty (Tyler, Texas) alleging patent infringement on the company’s live scan fingerprint capture products. The lawsuit is in reaction to the first known sale of Suprema devices in the U.S. to the Census Bureau. Suprema is based in South Korea and Texas-based Mentalix distributes its products. Cross Match seeks a permanent injunction prohibiting the sale of the infringing products as well as monetary damages and recovery of attorneys’ fees.
*The Transportation Security Administration plans to award CACI International [CAI] a potential two-month, $3.9 million contract bridge extension to continue providing program management support services under the Secure Flight Program.
The Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome Research Site, has awarded Serco Services a $1.3 million contract to design impregnable cyber systems. No additional detail was provided by the Air Force.
*Duos Technologies has received a $795,000 contract from a railroad to develop an automated method to conduct inspections of trains and railcars crossing the border from Mexico into the U.S. to detect illegal riders and contraband. The video analytics software currently interprets video scenes and marks positions of detections that require further inspection. The system will be expanded to inspect the undercarriage of passing rail cars, including automatic detection of open or missing hatches with automatic notification to the rail operator.
