Customs and Border Protection has awarded AgustaWestland an $11 million contract to provide pilot training for AW139 multi-mission helicopters. The contract includes a one-year base period and four one-year options. AgustaWestland is a business unit of Italy’s Finmeccanica.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Office of Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing plans to award Jupiter Corp. a potential 60-day, $900,000 contract extension to continue adjudication services for three programs pending award of a follow-on contract and allowing for a potentially critical transition period in the event the incumbent contractor is not selected. Jupiter has been providing adjudication services under a contract extension since Dec. 2008 when its original contract expired. Under the contract Jupiter helps TSA with Security Threat Assessments for individuals applying for credentials to access the nation’s transportation system.
The Army Research, Development and Engineering Command plans to award iRobot [IRBT] a $168,071 contract for a PackBot 510 robot with a Hazardous Materials Detection Kit in support of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Unmanned Ground Reconnaissance Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration. The robot is expected to be delivered next month. This is a purchase of a new commercial product.
