FLIR Systems [FLIR] has received a $912,571 contract from Customs and Border Protection for thermal imager remote kits. The award covers 14 Recon III remote kits.
Cross Match Technologies has received a small order for four to five units of its handheld SEEK II multimodal biometric capture devices from Customs and Border Protection. The units will be used in support of operational missions on the border.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Loews Hotels & Resorts have partnered to promote the department’s expedited traveler programs, including Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry and the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck. Under the partnership Loews Hotels is offering its YouFirst Platinum loyalty rewards members complimentary enrollment in Global Entry, which enables expedited entry into the U.S. on international flights. Global Entry participants are eligible to apply for TSA’s PreCheck expedited screening program that is available on certain U.S. airlines and at certain U.S. airports.
