Army Exploring PrSM Inc. 5 Capable Of Ranges Beyond 1000 km, Potential Hypersonic Speeds

The Army is exploring development of a fifth increment of its new Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) that would be fired from a larger pod to reach ranges beyond 1,000 kilometers and achieve potential hypersonic speeds, a lead official said Tuesday. Brig. Gen. Rory Crooks, director of the Army’s Long-Range Precision Fires Cross-Functional Team, on Tuesday acknowledged interest in a PrSM Inc. 5 and the LRPF CFT  later confirmed the project is expected to enter into a science and technology phase…
