Army Awards GE $13.5M for MobileTrace Units

General Electric [GE] says its Homeland Protection business has begun to execute delivery on a $13.5 million order from the Army for MobileTrace handheld contraband detection systems. The device can be used to detect a wide range of explosives and narcotics. "This is a significant government order for MobileTrace and reflects GE Security's commitment to supporting various government agencies on their critical security agendas," says Dennis Cooke, president of the Homeland Protection division.
