Canada’s Allen-Vanguard Corp. and Science Applications International Corp. [SAI] have signed two-year teaming agreements calling for joint development work and distribution of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) technologies. Under one agreement the companies will jointly develop CBRNE defense technologies and training solutions to meet emerging U.S. and Canadian requirements. Under another agreement, SAIC will distribute Allen-Vanguard’s CBRNE defense hardware and materials. The distributor agreement allows SAIC to pass favorable pricing on to existing and new clients via a number of contract vehicles. The arrangements, the value of which should become apparent in the next year or so to Allen-Vanguard, are part of the company’s strategy to selectively team with prime contractors and systems integrators who manage major counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and CBRNE programs for military and homeland security customers. Allen-Vanguard provides C-IED training, electronic countermeasures, CBRN decontamination, blast mitigation products, and robotic systems.
