Air Force, ULA Successfully Launch GPS IIF-12 Satellite

The Air Force and United Launch Alliance (ULA) on Feb. 5 successfully launched the Global Positioning System IIF-12 (GPS IIF-12) satellite.Launch took place at 8:38 a.m. EST at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., on an Atlas V rocket. The satellite, developed by Boeing [BA], is the last in the GPS IIF series. Lockheed Martin [LMT], developer of the next GPS satellite to be launched, GPS III-1, is preparing for a launch availability in August, company spokesman Chip Eschenfelder said…
