Trump Signs Executive Order To Reform FMS Process, Speed Up Arms Sales

President Trump has signed an executive order (EO) aimed at reducing regulations in the foreign military sales (FMS) process in order to speed up delivery of key arms to international partners. The EO directs a phased implementation effort for reforming the FMS process, to include tasking the Secretary of State and Defense Secretary to formulate a list within 60 days of priority partner nations and key weapons items for potential transfer to those countries. “To serve the interests of the…
