TransDigm Group Inc. [TDG] on June 23 said it has completed its $1 billion cash acquisition of Data Device Corporation (DDC) from the private equity firm Behrman Capital, adding engineered products with substantial aftermarket content.

DDC is expected to have $200 million in sales this year with about 75 percent coming from the defense market and the rest mostly from the commercial transport market. About 70 percent of DDC’s revenue comes from the aftermarket, with most of its revenue from proprietary and sole source products.

About 45 percent of DDC’s sales come from international business. The company has 650 employees.

DDC supplies databus and power controls and related products used mainly in military avionics, commercial aerospace and space applications. The company’s products are on such programs as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, F/A-18 fighter, Eurofighter, C-130 transport, A400M transport, F-15 fighter, AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and the 787, A350XWB and 777X commercial planes.
