Logos Introduces Wide-Area Sensor for Tethered UAS
Logos Technologies is introducing the MicroKestrel wide-area motion imagery sensor for small, tethered, multi-rotor type unmanned aerial systems. The company will unveil MicroKestrel next week at the annual Association of the U.S. Army conference in Washington, D.C. Logos says MicroKestrel is the world’s smallest wide-area motion imagery system, highlighting that when the sensor is mounted on a tethered UAS hovering at 200 feet, a single system can image three square kilometers, tracking all vehicles and detecting every moving dismount within its 180-degree field of regard. MicroKestrel can also cue high-definition video cameras for close-in inspection if an operator needs to positively identify a target. The sensor weighs just under 5-pounds.
