SRA International yesterday said it has received a potential five-year, $30 million contract to support an Army program that tracks the shipments of Defense Department assets using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.

SRA said that under the single award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract it and its partners will provide commercially available passive RFID technology, including communications, hardware and software, technical engineering services, documentation, training and maintenance services as well as military supply chain experts to the Army’s Product Director for Automated Movement and Identification Solutions.

The passive RFID Project II program support a common, integrated structure for logistic identification, tracking, locating and monitoring of commodities and assets for DoD, the Coast Guard, NATO, coalition partners, foreign military sales and other federal agencies, SRA said.

The program expands SRA’s asset management solutions work with various existing DoD customers, including U.S. Transportation Command, the Defense Logistics Agency and the Air Force.
