Semmel Named Director of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory

Ralph Semmel has been selected as the next director of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. On July 1, he will succeed Richard Roca, who has been director since 2000, the lab said in a statement yesterday. For the past five years of his 23-year career, Semmel has served as head of APL's Applied Information Sciences Department and its Infocentric Operations Business Area.
