The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said it notified Congress Aug. 9 of a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) of 10 Link-16 capable data link systems; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) suites and associated parts and equipment estimated to cost $257 million.
The possible sale would include, in addition to the data link systems, ISR suites for four Saudi Arabia-provided King Air 350 ER aircraft and associated ground support with an option to procure, via a FMS, an additional four King Air 350ER aircraft with enhanced PT6A-67A engines and spare parts equipped with the same ISR suites.
The ISR suites include a Com-Nav Surveillance/Air Traffic Management cockpit, RF-7800M-Frequency/Satellite Communication Transceiver Radios with Have Quick II and encryption, a High Speed Data Link, an AN/APX-114/119 Identification Friend or Foe Transponder, Embedded Global Positioning Systems/Inertial Navigations Systems (GPS/INS) with a Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM), AN/AAR-60 Infrared Missile Warning and AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures System, Electro-Optical Sensor, SIGINT System, Synthetic Aperture Radar and ground stations, training aids, C4I integration and various spare parts and support.
Prime contractors on the sale would be L-3 Communications [LLL], Hawker Beechcraft Defense Company, Raytheon [RTN], Rockwell Collins [COL], Harris [HRS], ATK [ATK], BAE Systems and ViaSat.
The sale is contingent on Congress’ approval.
