SAIC [SAI] yesterday said it has agreed to acquire Vitalize Consulting Solutions, Inc. (VCS) to boost its position in the healthcare space, particularly by providing its federal customers with commercial solutions for electronic health records. VCS, which is based in Massachusetts and has offices in several states, provides a range of healthcare information technology (IT) services including strategic consulting, system implementation, operational improvement, training and knowledge transfer around implementation and optimization of electronic health record systems from commercial-off-the-shelf vendors.
