Russia Develops Reusable Rocket Engines Cutting Launch Costs, Lifting 1.5 To 30 Tons; Hydrogen Added To Kerosene-Oxygen

Energomash Science and Production Association has developed a rocket engine with reusable liquid propellant engines that can markedly lower the cost per launch, according to the RIA Novosti news agency. The RD-191 rocket engine can be configures in multiple ways with varying numbers of strap-on boosters. It involves a small amount of hydrogen added to kerosene-oxygen fuel loads. The rocket system can lift from 1.5 to 30 tons.
