Raytheon [RTN] will expand its Indianapolis, Ind., facility and add 250 jobs to support depot and modernization services, the company said on Monday.

The facility currently develops soldier-worn computers, provides weapons system sustainment, supply chain management, and systems engineering to commercial and military contracts.

Currently, the facility uses 1,000 employees. The expansion marks a 25 percent increase in the number of Raytheon employees there.

Work at the facility will focus on depot support areas including modernizing and upgrading the capabilities of military platforms, systems engineering, and systems installations. The work will also include full life-cycle support of products and systems.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) and Indianapolis Deputy Mayor Adam Collins joined company officials at the announcement.

“We have an exceptionally talented and committed team here.  We will continue to draw upon the highly skilled and motivated workforce that Indiana has to offer. The partnership we enjoy with the State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis is yet another reason we’re moving forward to expand our presence in the region,” Dave Wajsgras, President of Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services, said in a statement.

“Raytheon’s announcement today places the development of key national security technology squarely in Indiana. We’re currently witnessing major players in the global defense and aerospace sectors growing in the state,” Pence said.
