OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received multiple customer contracts worth $6 million total for its Secure 1000 personnel screening system. “We are seeing significant customer interest in the Secure 1000, not only in aviation but for other security applications due to the systems proprietary technology which offers customers the best combination of security and operational efficiency, as it can detect small, non-metallic concealed threats very quickly and with excellent image resolution,” says Ajay Mehra, president of Rapiscan. The orders bring the total value of orders received for the Secure 100 to about $50 million in OSI’s fiscal year that ends June 30. The Secure 1000 is being deployed by the Transportation Security Administration to screen passengers at airport checkpoints in the U.S.
