The EDGE® Innovation Network will open the 12th EDGE facility, the Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center, in Fort Bliss, Texas.

The new facility is expected to become a vital local resource for quickly filling communications, command and control capability gaps and fielding innovations that improve soldier readiness.

The center will connect soldiers and other military personnel to the 11 other EDGE Innovation Centers worldwide, representing 250 members from industry and academia.

The EDGE Innovation Network is sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics [GD].

The Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center is an open environment that encourages military personnel to visit and engage with the EDGE team and its global members to experiment first-hand with advanced technologies and products ranging from soldier-worn, networked communications to new technologies and products integrated into military vehicles.

The facility is part of General Dynamics C4 Systems’ Fort Bliss Regional Support and Training Center, which serves the integration, testing and training needs for the Army’s Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) exercises at Fort Bliss and White Sands Missile Range, N.M.

The EDGE Innovation Network is a collaborative open environment enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force personnel. The Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center increases the scope and capabilities of this collaborative concept to deliver innovation quickly and cost effectively for military and government operations worldwide.
