SAN DIEGO– A DIU official here last week underscored the importance of the increasing Navy demand for energy storage as new systems come online, with a recent solicitation lasting only weeks. “The Navy approached us about replacing one of the weapons systems on the [Zumwalt-class] DDG-1000 with large scale energy storage.
