Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

IMT provides integration, engineering and sustainment solutions and has expertise in disseminating time-critical intelligence to the warfighter. The Northern Virginia-based firm is the lead technical support and sustainment provider for the Integrated Broadcast Service Enterprise, which is the Defense Department’s worldwide satellite-connected communications network for transmitting tactical and strategic intelligence, lethal threat warning, and targeting data to joint service and allied partner decision makers and operators, Mission Essential said.

“The acquisition of IMT is a key component of our long-term growth and diversification strategy,” Greg Miller, chairman of Mission Essential, said in a statement. He added that IMT will be “a great value-add to the Mission Essential family as the spearhead for our C4ISR capabilities.”

IMT will continue to be led by Rob Kelly.

IMT’s financial adviser on the deal was KippsDeSanto and Mission Essential was advised by Arena Strategic Advisors LLC.

Mission Essentials capabilities are in interpretation and translation services for the Defense Department, and analytic and operational intelligence services and solutions with the intelligence community.
