Marine Corps Aviation Plan Calls For New Support Ships

The Marine Corps' latest Aviation Plan, released this week, pushes for new Aviation Logistics Support Capability vessels. The plan noted the current aviation logistics vessels, SS Wright (T-AVB 3) and SS Curtis (T-AVB 4), are both past their expected service lives and expected to be retired in 2030 and 2033, respectively.  The Marine Corps said without a replacement they will experience a “critical shortfall.” “We require a standing capability to conduct afloat aviation sustainment activities to support [Expeditionary Advanced Base…
