The TSS is also part of the Marine Corps’ H-1 Upgrades Program, which is improving legacy aircraft and converting AH-1W models to AH-1Z. The TSS identifies and tracks targets, including a laser designator capability.
The contract will be completed in November 2015 with work being performed in Orlando and Ocala, Fla.
