Lockheed Martin Turns In Strong Third Quarter

By Calvin Biesecker Lockheed Martin [LMT] yesterday posted strong third quarter earnings and sales driven by double-digit sales and earnings increases at each of its operating segments, but the nation's top defense contractor provided a relatively cautious growth outlook for 2008. Next year, Lockheed Martin is forecasting growth between less than 1 percent to upward of about 4 percent as aircraft sales are expected to drop by $1 billion. Earnings next year are expected to run slightly ahead of sales.…
