Following up on the company’s announcement earlier this week that it would realign into five sectors, Leidos [LDOS] on Thursday announced the leaders for each sector and the heads of two new executive positions.
Tom Bell, who has been CEO of Leidos since May, announced the realignment on Tuesday during the company’s third quarter earnings call, saying it will improve operations and drive higher sales and earnings (Defense Daily, Oct. 31). The changes go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024.
Cindy Gruensfelder will be president of the Defense Systems Sector, joining Leidos after more than 35 years with Boeing [BA]. Most recently, she was vice president and general manager for Missile and Weapons Systems at Boeing’s facilities in Huntsville, Ala.
The National Security Sector will be led by Roy Stevens, currently president of Leidos’ Intelligence Group.
The Digital Modernization Sector will be led by Steve Hull, who is currently executive vice president for enterprise and cyber solutions operation.
Vicki Schmanske, executive vice president corporate operations, will be president of the Commercial and International Sector, which includes the company’s security detection business. Previously, she led the Intelligence Group.
Liz Porter will be president of the Health and Civil Sector. She is currently president of the Health Group.
Steven Cook will continue to lead the Dynetics business unit.
The announcement did not mention Jim Moos, who currently leads the Civil Group.
At the corporate leadership level, Bell created two new positions, chief growth officer and chief performance officer. Gerry Fasano, current Defense Group president, will be chief growth officer in charge of strategy, marketing, sales, government affairs, and communications.
Carly Kimball, currently chief accounting officer and corporate controller, will be chief performance officer leading program execution, real estate, security, information technology, and procurement.
Jim Carlini, chief technology officer, will also have responsibility for the company’s Leidos Innovation Center, strengthening management of the company’s technology innovation efforts.
