Latest LPD Completes Acceptance Trials

The latest of the San Antonio-class (LPD-17) amphibious transport dock ships has completed sea trials and is due to be commissioned next year. The USS Anchorage (LPD-23) underwent sea trials Friday that included demonstrating main propulsion engineering and ship control systems, combat and communications systems, damage control, various mission systems and its electronic network, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) said yesterday.
